New Zealand Immigration change in residency instructions for employees.
We have been waiting for the rules to be published for some months but here they are at last. Up until now if you have been applying for Residency to New Zealand and needed 100 points to start the process many of you may have been struggling if you are either skilled through work experience and have no qualification, or, are at the polar ends of the age range for a Skilled Migrant Residency Visa.
For those above this could make the difference to being eligible to apply for Residency and for those that have the luxury of sufficient points it may make a difference in how you apply for Residency and save costs. This is where the skill of an experienced Immigration Adviser can help.
As always there are conditions attached with bonus points for a job offer outside Auckland requiring the successful applicant to remain in work outside Auckland for longer. Always be mindful of the conditions of Residency as sometimes I have tragic calls from those who have ignore them at their peril and now have had to restart the process from scratch. The temptation is to relax when you get that label in the back of the passport and forget to read the paperwork that goes with it.
Anyone who thinks this will open the door to New Zealand for them please get in touch.
